Courier-Post has published an interesting article noting the publication of an article by Tim Jon Semmerling in
Western Legal History 21 (Winter/Spring 2008) on the Justice of the Peace register of John Marshall Clemens, the father of Samuel Clemens. (The clapboard building on the corner pictured at right, is said to be the office of Clemens senior from 1845 to 1847.) The register, covering the years 1844 to 1846, was deposited in the Mark Twain Boyhood Home and Museum in 2006. The
