Weekend Roundup

  • Alison LaCroix, University of Chicago Law School, "reflects on the perpetual struggle for a 'well-constructed union'"  (UC Magazine).
  • Tomiko Brown-Nagin is interviewed as she leaves the deanship of Harvard Radcliffe Institute for the James Quillen Dean of its Graduate School of Education at Stanford University.
  • A recording of Jud Campbell's Scalia Lecture at Harvard Law, entitled "The Federalist Bill of Rights" (YouTube).
  • Carlton F.W. Larson, UC Davis School of Law, has posted an interview on treason during the American Revolution (AAR).
  • Pennsylvania's now-closed Pennhurst State School and Asylum has a fascinating and troubling history, including a rich legal history. A new film captures some of that history, alongside footage of the current commercial uses of the space (a haunted asylum attraction, ghost hunting tours). Information about the film (The Haunting of Pennhurst) is here. I also recommended David Korostyshevsky's review, posted at the blog Nursing Clio. [KMT]
  • Here is the Call for Proposals for the annual meeting of the Association of Law and Political Economy to be held in Boston on June 9-10, 2027.
  • ICYMI: A notice of A Concise History of American Law by the late William E. Nelson in the Law Society Gazette, and a review of Born Equal by Akhil Reed Amar in the Washington Independent Review of Books.

Weekend Roundup is a weekly feature compiled by all the Legal History bloggers.
