Dissertation and Summer Research Funding, American Bar Foundation

The American Bar Foundation welcomes applications from legal historians for these funding opportunities:
ABF Doctoral Fellowship Program: The American Bar Foundation is committed to developing the next generation of scholars in the field of law and social science. The purpose of the fellowships is to encourage original and significant research on law, the legal profession, and legal institutions.  Click here for more information.

Law and Social Science Dissertation Fellowship and Mentoring Program (LSS Fellowship)
The Law and Society Association, in collaboration with the American Bar Foundation and the National Science Foundation, has launched the Law and Social Science Dissertation Fellowship and Mentoring Program (LSS Fellowship) which is designed to foster scholars in the Law and Society tradition and whose scholarship is on Law and Inequality.  Click here for more information. 

ABF Summer Research Diversity Program: This program of summer research fellowships is designed to introduce undergraduates from diverse backgrounds to the rewards and demands of a research-oriented career in the field of law and social science.  Click here for more information.
These fellowships require residency at the ABF in Chicago.  Deadlines for dissertation fellowships are in December (follow links for details).  The summer fellowship deadline is February 15.
