With the Supreme Court hearing arguments at 10 a.m. (eastern) this morning in new cases about the rights of Guantanamo detainees, Boumediene v. Bush and Al Odah v. United States, here are some places to follow the news. At stake in the cases is whether Guantanamo detainees can challenge their detention in U.S. civilian courts, and more broadly the scope of executive power over Guantanamo detainees. SCOTUS Blog has details about the litigation and will post the audio of the arguments as soon as it becomes available. Due to the importance of the cases, the Court will release the audio shortly after the arguments conclude. Start with the links here, and check the main page for updates.
