The Legal History Blog welcomes Tomiko Brown-Nagin, Justice Thurgood Marshall Distinguished Professor of Law and Professor of History at the University of Virginia, who will be a guest blogger for the month of February. Tomiko is the author of Courage to Dissent: Atlanta and the Long History of the Civil Rights Movement, just published by Oxford University Press. A nice profile of the book and Tomiko's work appeared recently in the Virginia Journal. And she has the best Amazon.com author page of anyone I know, with a schedule of book talks!
At Virginia, Tomiko teaches American social and legal history, constitutional law, education law and policy and public interest law. She was the Charles Warren Visiting Professor of American Legal History at Harvard Law School in fall, 2008. She has written widely on civil rights history and law.
Welcome to Tomiko!
