• The latest issue of Common-place is out. Among the treasures is a review, by Alison Games (Georgetown University), of Elaine Forman Crane, Witches, Wife Beaters, & Whores: Common Law and Common Folk in Early America (Cornell University Press, 2011).

• "Hate & Political Discourse," a symposium sponsored by the Journal of Hate Studies, will take place on Thursday, September 27, 2012, at the Washington College of Law, American University, Washington, DC. Mari Matsuda, Hawai’i Law, will deliver the keynote, "Is Peacemaking Un-American?  On Violence and Ideology."  Other participants include Rebecca Barrett-Fox, Damon T.
