Unbound: An Annual Review of Legal History and Rare Books 5 (2012): 17. The abstract reads, “Over the course of his lifetime Frederick Douglass is known to have made three visits to Carlisle, Pennsylvania. He nearly lost his life on one of those visits and was denied access to a hotel dining room on another visit. This paper details all three visits.”
