Gordon-Reed Wins National Book Award

Legal History Blog congratulates Annette Gordon-Reed, New York Law School and the federated history department of Rutgers University, Newark/NJIT, for winning the National Book Award in Non-Fiction for The Hemingses of Monticello: An American Family (W.W. Norton & Company). We're pleased to note that Professor Gordon-Reed is a long-time member of the American Society for Legal History and currently sits on its Board of Directors! This is great news; I was very happy to hear Annette on NPR this morning. Very exciting for the legal history world, too.
