The William Mitchell College
of Law is observing the
150-year anniversary of the Dakota War of 1862 with a series of events, lectures, law review articles, and a
new course on Dakota Legal History. An exhibit officially opens with a reception at 5 pm
on Tuesday, January 17.
The exhibit "provides viewers with a visual history of the causes
of the war, the conflict itself, and the aftermath." It was developed by Mitchell’s Indian Law Program, with funding from the Minnesota Historical Society.
