Maryland Legal History Publications
We have only now just noticed the existed of the on-line series Maryland Legal History Publications, maintained by the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of
Law. Papers by Maryland law students predominate, lately with a concentration
on admiralty and maritime law. Michael Schearer, for example, has
posted
The General Smith: Early 19th Century Baltimore and the Supreme Court's Admiralty Jurisdiction there and on SSRN. Also of interest is Patrick R. Browning’s The Gran Para: The Delicate Dance of South American Privateering from Baltimore, a study of a libel filed by Consul General of Portugal in the
District Court of Maryland over silver and gold coin taken from a
Portuguese ship.
