Shoemaker Wins Brown Prize
Congratulations to Karl Shoemaker,
Wisconsin Law, for winning the 2014 John Nicholas Brown Prize of the Medieval
Academy for his book, Sanctuary and Crime in the Middle Ages, 400-1500 (Fordham
University Press, 2011). The Academy
awards the prize "for a distinguished first book in the field of medieval
studies judged by the selection committee to
be of outstanding quality." (This
year's co-recipient is Leslie Lockett for Anglo-Saxon
Psychologies in the Vernacular and Latin Traditions [University of Toronto
Press, 2011].)
