A Disturbance in the Force

Although it would not be unprecedented, we usually don't comment on decanal changes in law schools unless a legal historian is directly involved (as here and here).  Still, it's hard to let pass unremarked reports (here and here) of the exceedingly unwise treatment by the president of St. Louis University of its law school, , if only because SLU has been an exceptional incubator of first-rate legal historians since at least Lawrence Friedman's time.  Our best wishes to the talented legal historians who are there now.
