Adventures, disasters, and more in the book pages

Adventures, disasters, and other such tales dominate the book pages this weekend. FATAL JOURNEY: The Final Expedition of Henry Hudson -- A Tale of Mutiny and Murder in the Arctic by Peter C. Mancall, is reviewed in the Washington Post. Also in the Post, HOW ROME FELL: Death of a Superpower by Adrian Goldsworthy. And if you're not sufficiently depressed, "Marc Wortman offers military annihilation as Shakespearean tragedy," suggests Justin Moyer in his review of Wortman's THE BONFIRE: The Siege and Burning of Atlanta.
The LA Times suggests Katrina reads, with a review of The Year Before the Flood: A Story of New Orleans by Ned Sublette, and also five recommended books.
