The conveners explain:
As we approach the 250th anniversary of the Stamp Act, scholarship on the American Revolution is poised to accelerate and move in innovative directions. Join us to consider the state of the field as it relates to legal history. There is no pre-circulated essay for this seminar, but colleagues are asked to read chapter 2 of Grant Gilmore's The Ages of American Law (New Haven: Yale University Press, 1977) if they have not already done so, in preparation for this program. The conveners ask for RSVPs "so we know how many will attend," via email to seminars@masshist.org or by calling 617-646-0568. In case of inclement weather, phone 617-536-1608 for information. The seminar is free and open to the public. Afterwards the Society will provide a light buffet supper.
