This past week on the Facebook page we highlighted sources
in English legal history including the York Church Court Records Online, the Domesday Database, and the Summa de Legibus Normanniae at HLS.
Coming up in the next week, we’re highlighting readings and ideas in
American legal historiography.
As Tomiko announced here, G. Edward (Ted) White is joining
us as a guest blogger this month and will answer readers’ questions about his
new book, Law in American History: From the Colonial Years through the Civil
War. Law in American History “takes up
the central themes from American legal history from the earliest European
settlements through the Civil War.”
In that spirit, we’ll have links to LHB posts on American
legal historiography all week on the Facebook page. To start things off: Tomiko Brown-Nagin on
Biography as History.
