The Passing of Gordon Hylton
We were saddened to learn last night of the death yesterday morning of the legal historian J. Gordon Hylton, who has taught at the University of Virginia School of Law since 2015 and before that at Marquette University for many years. He wrote on the history of the legal profession, including African American lawyers, and of sports law. Dean Risa Goluboff writes that he was “a legend at the Law School for his tremendous knowledge of our history, his love of sharing stories from the civil rights era, and his warmth and generosity.” The UVA Law press release is here.
